Dear New England Neighbors,
Last week, a dear friend and our conference co-host, Andrea McGrath, passed away while in California. Andrea was a large part of the inspiration behind the launch of New England Impact Investing Initiative. She was a knowledgeable and masterful visionary and networker whose life and energy were contagious among those who interacted with her. Her passing is a heavy loss for our region’s social sector and impact investing community.
In the coming weeks, there will be many opportunities to celebrate Andrea and all she brought to the world. For those who want to attend, Andrea’s service is scheduled for Friday, November 15 at 12 noon at St. Ignatius at Boston College.
As for the Invest in New England Series, we will take some time to regroup before continuing the work. We have decided to postpone our November 22nd session until March 2025. Our organizing team will need additional time and capacity to plan for the event. We are sorry for the disruption. Please let us know if you are interested in helping us plan.
If you knew Andrea, you would appreciate what a force and organizer she was. Our work reminds us of what a blessing she was for us, for our work, and for our communities.
Warmly,
Lubna Maria Elia, NEIII
